Cafés, Restaurants, and Inns

- Schokosphäre / Breitbrunn (our local favorite, best chocolates, great coffee, pretzels & croissants, friendly people, and much more!)

- Bayerische Brandung / Herrsching-Uferpromenade (Charming booth by the lake with draft beer, delicious coffee, and great drinks; the perfect spot for sunsets)

- Seaside Sushi / Herrsching (The restaurant itself is rather simple, but the sushi is very good! Takeout is also available)

- Fischer am Ammersee / Stegen (Great location right on the shore of Lake Ammersee with a beer garden, stylish restaurant (reserve at least one day in advance!), and a great ice cream parlor)

- Kloster Andechs / Andechs (famous for beer, Bavarian food, and a cozy atmosphere)

- Kimora / Utting (A fine Vietnamese restaurant, rather unassuming in the center of Utting, the kind you'd expect to find in a city like Munich)

- Hot Chilli / Steinbach (Another great Asian restaurant (Balinese) in the old Steinbach train station; be sure to reserve a few days in advance!)

- Lenas am See / Utting (Very tasteful and also directly on the shores of Lake Ammersee; reservations recommended!)

- Seerestaurant St. Alban / Diessen (Great location on the southern shore of Lake Ammersee with fantastic meat and fish dishes, wood-fired pizza, and much more; reservations recommended!)

- Seehaus / Riederau (Gourmet restaurant with a French owner, numerous awards, prime location directly on the western shore of Lake Ammersee with its own jetty; reservations recommended!)

- Seehaus-Raabe / Wörthsee (Great terrace "in" the water; reservations recommended)

- Sepperl-Wirt / Meiling (Wonderful beer garden, very good traditional cuisine)

- Il Kiosko / Wörthsee (Very nice Italian self-service kiosk on a large meadow directly on the water)

Excursions / Swimming

- Königsberg (Jaudesberg) / Breitbrunn (the best things are often close by: a walk to our "local mountain" just around the corner with all its wonderful adjacent forest paths, fields, and meadows, and above all, the panoramic view across Lake Ammersee to the Alps; stunning sunsets, always a treat)

- Bathing area / Breitbrunn (a beautiful, spacious, and inviting bathing area by our pier; depending on the water level, you can also walk for miles along the lakeside path to the north and south)

- Lakeside promenade / Herrsching (our promenade, the longest lakeside promenade in Germany with everything your heart desires: nature, culture, ice cream, beer gardens, swimming areas, boat rentals, jetties, people-watching...)

- Bike tour around Lake Ammersee / We have wonderful bike paths; avoid the main roads and enjoy beautiful routes through forests and meadows (to get to Herrsching, be sure to cycle via Ellwang / Rausch; simply follow the paved path, which starts 100m East of us. Beautiful, and you avoid the busy and dangerous main road!

- Breitwand Cinemas / Award-winning art house cinema with 3 locations (one in the courtyard of Seefeld Castle); open-air screenings in summer

- Buchheim Museum / Bernried (beautifully situated museum on Lake Starnberg)
